7 Important Updates not to miss in NID Prospectus 2016


 

1.  NID Registration Process goes online

  • Before: Till last year, students had to download the application forms from the website & send the completed forms to NID along with the fees and required documents.
  • Now: NID Application Forms 2016 can be filled online. Visit admissions.nid.edu.

 

2. DAT for NID B.Design, NID M.Design & GDPD at NID Vijayawada – All on the same date

  • Before: DAT for NID B.Design & NID M.Design usually never shared the same date of examination.
  • Now: For NID Admissions 2016 – 17, DAT for NID B.Design, NID M.Design & GDPD at NID Vijayawada, all will be held on January 10, 2016

 

3. Results for DAT

  • Before: Results for DAT B.Design and M.Design were usually declared in the month of March
  • Now: For the coming admission season, results will be declared as following

                   DAT for NID B.Design and GDPD - Feb 22, 2016

                   DAT for NID M.Design                 - Feb 5, 2016

 

4. Admit Cards

  • Before: Hall Tickets / Call Letters for DAT were posted to students in the month of December.
  • Now: Admit Cards for DAT will be available online to students on December 24, 2015.

 

5. New Test Centres Added

  • Before: 12 Test Centres existed in India for conducting NID DAT.
  • Now: Five more Test Centres added: Bhuvaneshwar, Dehradun, Ranchi, Thiruvananthapuram and Vijayawada added to the initial list.

     

6.Eligibility Criteria – Age

  • For B.Design
  • Before: For NID Admissions 2015-16 - Upper Age limit of Candidates– 20 years

( relaxable by 3 years for reserved categories ) as on June 1, 2015

  • Now: For NID Admissions 2016-17 - Upper Age limit of Candidates - 20 years

( relaxable by 3 years for reserved categories ) on or before July 1, 2016

 

  • For M.Design
  • Before: For NID Admissions 2015-16 - Upper Age limit of Candidates– 30 years

( relaxable by 3 years for reserved categories ) as on June 1, 2015

  • Now: For NID Admissions 2016-17 - Upper Age limit of Candidates - 30 years

( relaxable by 3 years for reserved categories ) on or before July 1, 2016

 

 7. Eligibility Criteria – Educational Qualification

  • For M.Design
  • Before: For NID Admissions 2015-16 - Educational Qualification varies for all 19 streams.
  • Now: For NID Admissions 2016-17 - Educational Qualification is common for all 19 streams. For more details Click here
