Which type of GK comes in NID?
Hi Friends,
Here are some useful GK preparation tips for NID Aspirants. It is important to understand that NID GK is observational GK and can't be prepared from a GK book. These tips will help you improve your score and get a good rank in NID entrance exams.
Time and again,we have stressed on the importance of honing your observation skills in preparation of NID GK. In this article we lay emphasis on some interesting observations which might be important for the coming NID exams.
Furniture has been an important part of the civilized society. Furniture items of everyday use like table, chair, bed etc. follow some standard dimensions, which were derived from human body measurements. For Example, a door handle is fixed at a height convenient to most adults. Sameway, height of a chair is kept, that most of the population finds comfortable to sit on. Then why is that tables and chairs, used for the same purpose but kept at different places, have different dimensions. We are referring to the table arrangement in a Fine Dine Restaurant, which is more spacious and luxurious, whereas one in a Fast Food Joint is compact, small and stackable. Is it only the fact that where we pay more, we get better amenities and ambience. Or there is something more to it......... On observing and analysing closely, we found more to the story.
In a fast food joint, the food mostly served occupies less space on the table like burger and pizza, whereas in a restaurant when full meal is served, occupies more space. Hence, changes in the dimensions of table are justified. People choose fast food when they are busy and just want to grab a bite or to satisfy their taste buds. In short, it can't replace lunch or dinner menu (At least for majority of the population). The billing amount per person is less compared to restaurants where people come for full meals in larger groups. This implies, the fast food joint owners will earn more if they focus on quick customer rotation ie. if a table order is finished quickly, more number of customers can be accomodated. So, the overall ambience is not too relaxing and the focus is not on comfort. That's the reason why fast food chairs are never upholstered but mostly stackable and lightweight, which can be accomodated in less space. Also, since the customer spends more in a restaurant, more luxury is provided in terms of soft, comfortable sofas and the ambience. Not to forget the soft lighting and the music. This explains the question in detail.
