ARCHITECTURE ADMISSIONS THROUGH JEE B.ARCH


 

The Joint Entrance Examination (B.Arch) , is conducted by CBSE for admission to 5 year B.Arch / B.Planning programme in various colleges across India. JEE B.Arch 2016 will be conducted on 3rd April 2016, 2pm to 5 pm. Candidates having 50% aggregate marks in 5 subjects in Class XII & passing Mathematics subject individually are eligible to appear for the exam.

Though most of the Institutes in India consider NATA as an entrance exam for admission to first year of B.Arch course, but some institutes still consider JEE B.Arch score.

For entrance to B.Arch in IITs, there is a different procedure for admission, candidates are required to clear JEE Mains paper I, JEE(Advanced) and AAT.

Eligibility Criteria for JEE B.Arch 2016:

  1. Age Limit: Should be born on or before 1st October 1991. (Five years relaxation is given for SC, ST, PwD candidates.
  2. Year of Qualifying: The candidates having passed Class XII / Equivalent Qualifying Examination in 2014, 2015 or appearing in Class XII / Equivalent Qualifying Examination in 2016.
  3. Number of Subjects in Qualifying Examination: The candidate must have taken at least 5 subjects in Class XII / Equivalent Qualifying Examination
  4. Number of Attempts: A candidate can appear for JEE Mains for maximum 3 times.

The examination mode is Paper and Pen; Online exams are not available for B.Arch. The examination has 3 parts:

Score Card

All India Rank – AIR is only considered for admissions, through Central Seat Allocation Board-CSAB to NITs / IITs / CFTIs / SFIs / Others. The score cards would be available on www.jeemain.nic.in.

All participating institutes that do not use the Central Seat Allocation Process will prepare their own ranking based on the performance in JEE Main 2016 & other criteria as decided by them.

The score is calculated on the basis of score in JEE Main 2016 and normalized score in Class XII / Equivalent Qualifying Examination ( 60% and 40% weightage respectively )
