NIFT ENTRANCE EXAM 2023
NIFT entrance exam is conducted in two phases for BDes and MDes courses.
For NIFT entrance exam 2023, first phase exams consists of a written examination: CAT and GAT for BDes and MDes admissions.
Selected candidates from the first phase are called for the second phase examination ie. Situation Test for BDes programme and GD/PI for MDes programme.
For BFTech admissions, candidates have to appear only for GAT exam.
For MFM & MFTech admissions, aspirants have to appear for GAT and GD/PI rounds.

NIFT Creative Ability Test (CAT) is held to evaluate the candidate's intuitive ability, illustration skills, observation power, design ability and concept development. For syllabus of NIFT CAT click here.
NIFT General Ability Test (GAT) is a multiple choice based paper with sub-tests composing of Quantitative Ability, Communication Ability & English Comprehension, Analytical Ability & Logical Ability and General Knowledge & Current Affairs. For syllabus of NIFT GAT click here.
NIFT Situation Test is a hands on test to evaluate a candidate's skill for material handling and innovative ability with given set of materials. For details of Situation Test click here.
NIFT Group Discussion (GD) comprises of approx 15 -20 minutes of discussion on a case study assigned on which a panel of experts will assess the candidates on various parameters. For details of GD Syllabus click here.

Important Points to keep in mind at the NIFT Examination Centre
Applicants should reach the examination center at least 60 minutes before the begining of the exam.
Applicants will have to carry their Admit Cards to the examination hall.
Mobiles, infotech gadgets are not allowed inside the hall. Applicants found with mobile or other infotech gadgets will be asked to leave the examination centre and shall be disqualified. Click for List of NIFT Test Centres.

On the basis of the result of the first test, shortlisted candidates will be called for the second test.
