NATA EXAMINATION

 

Nata 2024 measures the aptitude of the candidate for specific field of study, ie Architecture, through assessment of cognitive skills, visual perception and aesthetic sensitivity tests. It also tests your logical and critical thinking, besides the learning the candidate has acquired over the past years. Since 2006, the Council of Architecture (COA) has been organizing the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (Nata). This test is required for getting admission to the Bachelor of Architecture program. However, the actual admissions are carried out only by the concerned competent authorities of the respective States/UT's etc., Institutions based on valid Nata score and eligibility criteria prescribed by CoA and concerned authorities.

Nata Exam Registration 2024

 

Nata registrations started on 1 March, 2024 & the exams will commence on April 6, 2024. Nata 2024 exam will be held every weekend from April to July 2024, two sessions per day. However the closing dates for form filling have not been announced yet. Nata Application Form can be filled online at the Nata portal of www.nata.in. The online application form is interactive in nature & is broadly categorized into three steps: personal details, document uploading & fee payment. 

The candidate can take Nata 2024 exam upto 3 times, in one academic year. Participation in the second or third test remains optional & lies solely with the discretion of the applicants. Candidates are eligible to enroll for either one test or a maximum of three tests within a single academic year by duly completing the application form. The best score out of all the attempts will be used to determine the results. Nata Test score will be valid for two academic years. 

Qualifying in Nata 2024 does not guarantee in favour of the candidate for admission to B.Arch Course in any Institute or College, unless the candidate has fulfilled all the prescribed requirements as specified by respective competent authorities in compliance with the eligibility criteria laid down by the council.

Syllabus for Nata Exam

The Syllabus for Nata 2024 includes a comprehensive range of topics, outlining what the candidates must acquaint themselves with, for the entrance examination. It is designed to effectively evaluate the aptitude & reasoning skills of each candidate. To ready themselves adequately, aspirants are encouraged to acquaint themselves thoroughly with the Nata exam pattern and syllabus  before the exam. 

 

Eligibility Criteria for Nata 

Candidates appearing in the Nata exam 2024 are advised to go through nata criteria, before applying for Nata.

For 10+2 Students:

  • Qualifying Exam: 10+1 exam or 10+2 exam passed/appearing
  • Subjects Required: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are mandatory subjects
  • Age Limit: No Age Limit Specified to Appear for Nata

For Diploma Students:

  • Qualifying Exam: 10+3 Diploma Examination passed/appearing
  • Subjects Required: Mathematics subject is mandatory
  • Age Limit: No Age Limit Specified to Appear for Nata

However, candidates should note that the above eligibility criterias are only for appearing in Nata exam.

Aspirants need to fulfil further criterias in order to be eligible to get admission to B.arch course.

Nata Admit Card

 

Nata Admit Card will be available on the official website www.nata.in. Each candidate can download their Nata Appointment Card/Nata Admit Card, which will detail their assigned Nata Test Centre, session & Appointment number for Nata 2024, as per the provided schedule. Candidates must ensure to download a soft copy from the website & bring a hard copy to the Nata Test Centre, along with an original photo ID such as Voter Card/ Pan Card/ Aadhar Card/ Driving Licence/ Passport. It is crucial that the photo & signature on the Appointment Card are clear & undamaged. Candidates with damaged Appointment Cards will not be permitted take Nata 2024. It is advised that candidates keep their Appointment Cards safe untill the completion of the admission procedure.

 

Nata Results 2024

Nata results will be declared on www.nata.in

The Qualifying Marks for Nata 2024 would be based on the following rules:

1. A Minimum of 20 marks must be secured in Part A.

2. A Minimum of 30 marks must be secured in Part B.

3. Overall qualifying marks for Nata 2024 shall be 70 marks out of 200 as aggregate of Part A and part B.

A candidate will not qualify in Nata 2024, unless all 3 conditions mentioned above are satisfied. In case the candidate appears in multiple tests, all the previous scores shall appear on the score card.

The best score obtained in all attempts shall be taken as the valid score for Nata 2024.

Nata 2024 score shall be valid for two academic years from the year in which appeared.

 

Nata Counselling

The Council of Architecture (CoA) does not organize a centralized Nata Councelling process. Instead, candidates who have qualified will need to apply to their chosen colleges separately for B.Arch Admissions. There are around 300 universities & colleges across India, that recognize Nata scores for admission into their 5 year B.Arch programs. Ans 1. Nata 2024 does not have negative marking. Hence, it is a good opportunity for all the aspirants to attempt maximum number of questions, as there is no fear of losing marks in negative marking.

Ans 2. The answer to this question may vary from candidate to candidate. As Nata measures your aptitude in the field of Architecture, aspirants may find it tough or easy, based on their inherent aptitude for the respective field.
